Any Site Currency Converter — Privacy Policy

This policy applies specifically to the Any Site Currency Converter browser extension by AppCity Studios. It explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with data. It is separate from, and more specific than, the general AppCity Studios website privacy policy.

1. What the extension does

• Currency conversion. When you convert a price — by highlighting it, using “Convert this page,” or (Pro) automatic conversion — the extension reads the price text and sends only the numeric amount and currency code (for example “8000 EUR”) to a third-party exchange-rate provider to look up the current rate. It does not send the page’s content, URL, title, or any other information.
• Exchange-rate providers. Rates come from ExchangeRate-API’s keyless endpoint (open.er-api.com) and, if a key is configured, the keyed endpoint (v6.exchangerate-api.com).
• Local storage only. Your settings (target currency, preferences) and cached exchange rates are stored locally in your browser. They are not transmitted to us.

2. Payments

• Payments for the Pro upgrade are processed by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe. The extension never sees or stores your card details.
• The extension receives only your paid/trial status and, if you provide it at checkout, the email address associated with your purchase (so your Pro status follows you across devices).

3. What we do NOT do

• We do not collect, store, or transmit your browsing history, the content of pages you visit, or any personally identifying information.
• We do not use analytics or tracking, and we do not sell or share data with anyone.
• We do not run remote code; all extension logic ships inside the package.

4. Permissions and why they’re needed

• storage — save your settings and cache exchange rates locally.
• activeTab / scripting — convert prices on the page you’re actively using when you ask it to.
• Access to websites — the extension’s core purpose is converting prices on any website you visit. It only acts when you trigger a conversion (or, for Pro users, when automatic conversion is enabled).
• contextMenus — the right-click “Convert selection” option.
• extensionpay.com access — required by ExtensionPay to manage your Pro status and payments.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date below.
